Personalized Learning
In classes of no more than 10 students, we use individualized instruction to challenge and explore students' interests, talents and passions.
Progressive Education
We take kids seriously and recognize that children are innately motivated, curious and creative. We measure student growth on the eight domains of child development.
Rich Curriculum
Our middle school style schedule gives students the chance to work with different peers throughout their day, learning more than Math, Science and Literacy.
Making time for play
All of our students have access to swim in our indoor salt water pool, play weekly sports and take time everyday to use our unique outdoor play structures.
Family Support
Onsite care provided by Bixby staff is available from 7:15 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. Tuition assistance is available.
After Graduation
Bixby students go on to attend a wide range of middle schools, using the critical thinking, imagination, and the Bixby joy of learning with them.

The elementary school program at Bixby is designed to support and encourage children’s lively intellects with a learning curriculum shaped by student interests and individual personalities.

Common across the content areas is a focus on independent thinking skills – problem-solving, curiosity, conceptual understanding and critical thinking – and fostering intrinsic motivation. These fundamental elements of a progressive education are facilitated by content specialists, each with a passion for their content and a love of learning.

The elementary program delivers a whole-child curriculum that places equal emphasis upon academic preparation, independent thinking, social-emotional competence and global citizenship.

We use our innovative team-teaching model in our elementary Literacy/Social Studies and Math classrooms!

Research shows that team-taught students often demonstrate greater academic progress, engagement, and critical thinking skills compared to solo-taught peers. Having two lead teachers in the classroom working together can provide students with a uniquely enriching and personalized learning experience.

Moreover, we strongly believe in the importance of integrating social studies into our literacy content. Weaving together these two subjects promotes a deeper understanding of historical events, cultures, and societies while also enhancing critical thinking skills, empathy, and global awareness.

Through our co-teaching model and emphasis on social studies within literacy, we aim to empower our students to become thoughtful, informed, and engaged citizens of the world. Together, we can inspire a lifelong love for learning and exploration!

  • School day: 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
  • Extended day options: 7:15 a.m.-8:30 a.m. |  3:30 p.m.-5:45 p.m.
