Building strong relationships with my students and honoring their unique skills and interests are the foundation of my teaching. I believe that teaching the whole individual is the best way to help them grow and thrive. I teach literacy because I believe in the power of the written word and the excitement of a good story that gives us a glimpse into another life.
In my life outside of school, I train horses, travel with my family, spend time in the wilderness with my dog, and cheer on the Buffs and the Pittsburgh Penguins. On quieter days, I can often be found playing music, knitting, quilting, or curled up in a chair with a cup of tea and a book.
