Bixby School’s play-based progressive learning model is inspired by the educational philosophies of John Dewey, who emphasized learning through hands-on experiences and real-life connections. While Dewey’s ideas serve as an influence, Bixby has developed its own distinctive approach that centers on fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving in an engaging and joyful environment. By prioritizing personalized learning and student growth, Bixby empowers children to become curious, confident, and capable learners, aligned with the broader principles of progressive education while uniquely tailored to the needs of Bixby students and families.
