We just finished up our month-long study of Chemistry in 1st grade science. The classroom was regularly filled by bursts of screams of excitement throughout the unit. At the end of the unit, we reviewed all the concepts we learned and demonstrated. To our amazement, we had filled the whole white board with new knowledge! What a success. To bring everything together, I suggested we make movie about all the things we learned. The students were thrilled by the idea of being the stars of a movie. They began brainstorming ideas for how to demonstrate the different concepts. We repeated some experiments and came up with new ideas for others. The students came up with all the scenes in the following movie. Instead of going on anymore, take a look for yourself and enjoy the brilliance of youthful creative spirit.
