Festive fall activities have been a blast of fun in the preschool! The team of teachers collaborated ideas relating to the season that we implemented in the classroom throughout the month. Some of the things we have been working on are pumpkin bowling, pumpkin guts sensory, spider webs with spiders and snakes, cinnamon and nutmeg scented play-dough, pumpkin in the pool with Kyle, baking pumpkin oat muffins, melted crayon pumpkin, and face painting by Salowa.
Topping off our eventful activities, the preschool class also participated in our annual parade around Bixby! The preschoolers worked hard to create beautiful costumes associated with their group time names. We marched around the school and had the Kindergarten class guess each group time costume. The children were dressed as Rainbow Caterpillars, Quetzal Birds, Mermaid Dragons, Monkey Squirrels, and Rainbow Pumpkin Fish.
Following the parade we all took part in a gourd hunt at the preschool yard. The children ran around in search of the hidden gourds by the Kindergarten. This activity continued to happen throughout the Halloween day because it’s so much fun!
Looking forward to winter, the preschoolers have expressed interest in making hand print turkeys, building snowmen on the playground, and cutting out snowflakes. I can’t wait to see what learning is to come!
