With the Spring Equinox just behind us, you can feel the air dampen with excitement for the spring rains. We welcome back the leaves from their winter hibernation. The buds are bursting with bright color, reminding us of all the colors we are lucky enough to experience. This summer at Bixby is going to be colorful indeed!
I organized this year’s summer camp into three categories of themes: Movement, Culture, and STEM. Some of the exciting new offerings are: Robotics with LEGOs, Samba and Afro-Brazilian Dance, and Taiko Drumming. Some of our favorites from last year will be back: The Kiva Center, Parkour, and Rockets with Plett. All the beloved summer activities will be there as well: swimming, Lower Yard in the morning, Wednesday rambles, free play, and plenty of time outdoors on our beautiful, shady, three acre campus.
Amanda, in the kitchen, has worked hard to organize a farm-to-table collaboration with Ollin Farms in Longmont. That means, in addition to the garden grown veggies and lettuces, we will have locally-grown veggies, fruits, and meats! This is an especially exciting and close-to-my-heart addition to our already stellar summer camp!
This year, all our registration is taking place online, which is much more streamlined and easier than in the past. I think you will all appreciate the new registration. Remember to register soon, early bird pricing ends April 15th. Register here. Spots are filling up quickly.
I’m very excited to have another great summer together with you all!
